LAY TEACHERS project aims to help non-professional teachers (also known as Lay Teachers) providing them with innovative non-conventional teaching learning methods and resources, tailor made to introduce migrants, refugees and people seeking asylum to the national languages, improving access to adult learning.

 

 

 

The Erasmus Lingua+ project “Innovative Language Learning within the Framework of Practices for Socio-cultural Inclusion and Empathy Enhancement in Adult Education” goes straight into the heart of the urgent matter of migrant integration in Europe. Successful integration is generally seen as the key to maximizing the opportunities of legal migration and making the most of the contributions that immigration can make to EU development. A basic knowledge of the host society’s language is crucial to successfully integrating migrants across Europe.

 

 

We provide a comprehensive programme of CPD showing how the recommendations from the MFL Pedagogy Review (2016) can be operationalised through a language-led, knowledge-rich and practice-based curriculum, whereby the three language knowledge strands: phonics, vocabulary and grammar underpin the development of confident communication, cultural understanding and creative use of language.

 

 

 

 

The World Migration Interactive Educators’ Toolkit is a set of resources for educators to teach about migration, migrants and human geography. It draws upon the extensive research and analysis in the World Migration Report series to deliver specialized tools and resources.

 

 

 

 

To support teachers across the world, IOM has also developed (in collaboration with the International Baccalaureate) the World Migration Educators’ Toolkit to assist educators in their work to provide young adults with an understanding of the essentials of migration through 11 flexible modules. The Toolkit draws upon the extensive research and analysis in the World Migration Report series, the flagship publication of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), to deliver specialized tools and resources for use by key audiences, such as educators.

 

 

 

The Toolkit for Integrating Migration into Education Interventions is part of a series of tools developed under the Mainstreaming Migration into International Cooperation and Development (MMICD) project, funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM). It complements the MMICD’s core Guidelines on Mainstreaming Migration into International Cooperation and Development and is one of its practical Toolkits for putting migration mainstreaming into practice. This Sector Toolkit was developed in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
